Our President Christy O Connor Senior was honoured today in The Royal Dublin Golf Club to celebrate the 50th anniversary of him becoming a professional with the club in 1959. He was in his 13th year as a professional and that year won his second British Masters which was played in Portmarnock. This win was just his 7th of his 33 professional wins which stretched from 1955 to 1983. These do not include many other wins in professional events and the 10 Irish PGA Championships in which he was victorious.

He was joined today at the celebration by his family including our own Christopher along with Peter who travelled home from his new base in Portugal. Even approaching the age of 85, Himself was more than capable to demonstrate the style that he made his own.

It is our great honour to represent one of golf?s living legends.

Today The Royal Dublin club renamed their 18th hole as Christys Garden. Our own 8th hole is named Christys Choice as he opened the course in 1984 with the first drive on our Index 1.
